Carlos Noton, researcher at the MIPP Millennium Institute and an academic with the Industrial Engineering at FCFM, presented the paper “Vertical Integration between Hospitals and Insurers”, co-authored with Ignacio Cuesta and Benjamin Vatter, the latter a former MagCEA-MIPP student, who is currently a doctoral student in Economics at Northwestern University.
Carlos Noton, whose areas of expertise are Industrial Organization and Applied Econometrics, presented the results of his research on the effects of vertical integration between insurers and hospitals, which would reduce the welfare of its beneficiaries.
The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) is a private organization founded in 1920 that conducts economic research and disseminates its findings among academics, policy makers and business professionals.
