The Milennium Institute for Research in Market Imperfections and Public Policy, MIPP, promotes and disseminates cutting-edge research on public policy as a response to market failures.

The researchers of the Institute develop tools to evaluate different designs, and make recommendations that can improve the welfare and the functioning of markets and organizations.   The lines of research of the MIPP include Industrial Organization, Finance, and Political Economy.

In this context, MIPP invites students to participate in the application process of the MIPP Master’s Thesis Support Contest. To participate, the candidates must show interest in topics related to what the institute does, as well as secure the sponsorship of a MIPP academic member.

Application Requirements

• Being enrolled in the last year of a Master’s program in Applied Economics or similar program.
• Provide grade transcripts.
• Secure the sponsorship of at least one of the academic researchers of MIPP.
• Letter of recommendation.
• Submit a thesis proposal at the time of application (3 pages)

Those interested can apply until September 21, 2018. The application must be sent in a sealed envelope to the MIPP office located at Republica 779, office 34, or in digital version to: megonzalez@mipp.cl.
