The first edition of the Dynamic Pricing Workshop is successfully completed

14 May, 2018

The first edition of the Dynamic Pricing Workshop organized by the Millennium Nucleus ICR and the Millennium Institute MIPP was held for a week, and included more than 30 participants from universities and companies from around the world.

Dynamic tariffs or “Dynamic Pricing” are part of the core business of several international companies such as Uber, Lyft and Disney. However, the application of dynamic pricing brings with it challenges that research and academia are trying to answer from the point of view of economics, computer science and mathematics.

For this reason, the week-long first edition of the Dynamic Pricing Workshop organized by the Millennium Nucleus ICR and the MIPP Millennium Institute was held, and it attracted the attendance of more than 30 participants.

Among them, the spotlight included the participation of Garrett Van Ryzin – former Head of Dynamic Pricing Research at Uber, and now Head of MarketLabs at Lyft, Dirk Bergemann, academic from the Yale Department of Economics, and Jason D. Hartline from Northwestern University.

Several relevant research projects were presented at the workshop, with the central  aim at answering questions such as: How to implement data that is constantly updated into dynamic pricing? How to incorporate the dynamics of time in consumer decision?, among others.
