Supply and demand, GDP, CPI, financial planning, and investment will be some of the concepts that high school teachers who enrol in the free online course “The city of opportunities” can teach their students in a language that is simple and easy to understand.
In the last quarter of 2017, the Chilean household debt reached a historic high, at 70% of household income. In this context, it is important to promote financial education to Chilean citizens.
With this objective in mind, the MIPP Institute, in collaboration with the Central Bank and the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Chile, created an online course in economic and financial education, titled “The city of opportunities”.
The course is aimed at secondary education teachers, and it is focuses on providing tools that allow them to incorporate economic and financial content in the classroom, in a language that is simple and easy to grasp.
This course is developed based on the contents outlined in the curriculum of the 2017 Plans and Programs of the Ministry of Education, and it lasts for 3 months.
