About thirty Finance Students from Universidad de Chile visited the Santiago stock exchange, ‘Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago’, invited by MIPP researcher and professor from the Industrial Engineering department of Universidad de Chile, Patricio Valenzuela.
The guided tour and presentation were in charge of Alejandra Cooper, coordinator from the Financial Education area of the stock exchange.
During the session, the students had access to the building –stated as cultural heritage of Chile-, with the objective of understanding how theoretical models apply in the financial industry, and how stock exchanges work, by means of a guided tour with illustrative anecdotes.
By the end of the visit, the students stopped by the Salón de Ruedas, an old room where transactions were loudly announced in the past. After a round of questions from the attendees, the session concluded successfully.
